Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks an Associate General Counsel for M&A to join the Minneapolis, MN or Denver, CO team. The role leads complex transactions, negotiates deals, and guides executives on legal risk, regulatory, and strategic implications across the enterprise, including international matters.

The candidate brings a JD, active license, 3+ years in transactional law with M&A experience and a proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders and teams in a fast-paced healthcare/insurance

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate with active license to practice in at least one state.
• 3+ years progressive senior experience in complex transactional law.
• 1+ years M&A experience and transaction leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to direct staff and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong strategic thinking and execution of long-term plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide full range of legal services in M&A, acquisitions, divestitures, investments, and joint ventures.
• Negotiate and execute complex M&A transactions and related priorities.
• Manage internal/external stakeholders and oversee outside advisors.
• Assess legal risks and advise business/ops teams to mitigate them.
• Offer executives guidance on domestic/international legal issues and commercial implications.
