Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Senior Associate General Counsel to drive antitrust strategy across the enterprise in a fully remote capacity within the United States. The role involves advising on complex compliance, investigations, and M&A activity while coordinating with senior leadership and outside counsel.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of antitrust experience, healthcare industry exposure, and deep knowledge of U.S. competition law.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice in any U.S. Jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of relevant antitrust experience.
• Healthcare antitrust experience including health plans, care delivery organizations, PBMs, and pharmacies.
• Deep knowledge of US competition laws including counseling, investigations, government inquiries, and merger reviews.

Responsibilities

• Interacting with enterprise senior leaders and/or outside counsel on complex issues.
• Developing, translating, and executing legal strategies for the enterprise.
• Act as internal antitrust counsel across the enterprise to navigate competition issues created by organic growth and acquisitions under national and international laws and regulations.
• Provide antitrust guidance on litigation, M&A, procurement, licensing agreements and similar transactions, including strategic planning, deal structure and diligence, (employment matters and data ownership, use, release and governance).
• Consult and advise legal and business colleagues on other business initiatives that may raise antitrust or anti-competitive risks.
• Assist in responding to governmental and other third party subpoenas/inquiries
• Advise on potential conflicts of interest, including mitigation and remediation
• Develop and conduct antitrust training in coordination with compliance
