Job summary

Performance Food Group seeks an experienced Director, Sr Associate General Counsel to manage employment and commercial litigation, counsel HR and executives, and lead labor matters across business segments.

The role involves coordinating with outside counsel, advising on Title VII through EPA issues, and driving compliance improvements while partnering with senior leaders to minimize risk and support strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from a Tier 1 law school.
• Active, licensed member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar.
• 5–10 years in a large law firm and/or in-house with employment litigation experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent legal judgment and strong client service mindset.
• Experience in a matrixed, decentralized, dynamic environment.
• Proven ability to work with senior management and executives.
• Strong business acumen and risk assessment ability.
• Solid project management discipline with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
• Team player who collaborates effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage single-plaintiff employment litigation from start to finish, including outside counsel coordination and risk assessment.
• Counsel HR and business leaders on employment law areas (Title VII, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, NLRA, etc.).
• Assist in workplace investigations.
• Partner with HR and operating leaders to provide practical legal guidance and timely resolutions.
• Draft responses to non-compete letters and related litigation.
• Oversee labor matters, including CBA negotiations and union campaigns responses.
• Oversee subpoena responses and review business practices for risk.
• Drive process improvements and promote a culture of compliance.
