Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and an active license in good standing in at least one U.S. state.
• Ohio bar admission preferred; attorneys licensed elsewhere must be eligible to register as corporate counsel in Ohio.
• 10+ years of legal experience, including at least 5 years in-house.
• Deep commercial contracting experience; high-volume negotiations.
• Experience advising a business in a heavily regulated industry across multiple states.
• Excellent business and legal judgment; practical, business-oriented advice.
• Clear written and verbal communication; educate and empower partners.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage ambiguity and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Legal Team in setting priorities, risk, and strategy.
• Develop and mentor the Corporate Counsel; expand scope and judgment.
• Translate OKRs into team priorities and track execution.
• Manage outside counsel when specialized expertise is needed.
• Negotiate and review a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Advise on regulatory, insurance, product, and privacy matters.
• Support AI governance, compliance programs, and data privacy initiatives.
• Oversee corporate governance and employment matters.
• Build scalable legal processes and playbooks; foster AI-enabled workflows.
