Job summary

HarbourVest Partners is seeking a Senior Associate on the Fund Accounting and Administration team. The role covers accounting, financial reporting, and client reporting for fund of funds and private credit vehicles. You will manage cash, liaise with external auditors, and oversee third-party providers.

The ideal candidate has strong US GAAP knowledge related to asset management, plus 4+ years of accounting experience in funds. The position is hybrid, with 3–4 days in the office per week.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• First-level review of quarter-end close, financial reporting, and capital account statements for Funds.
• Prepare distribution recommendations with portfolio management, operations and treasury.
• Collaborate with internal partners to ensure an efficient operating model for credit funds.
• Assist Fund Controller with closings and terms of legal documents.
• Compile financial information for regulatory filings (e.g., Form ADV/PF).
• Perform other duties as required.

HarbourVest Partners is seeking a Senior Associate on the Fund Accounting and Administration team. This role involves all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and client reporting tasks for fund of funds and private credit investment vehicles. The Senior Associate will also handle cash management, work with external auditors, and manage third-party service providers.

The ideal candidate is someone who has:

• A technical understanding of US GAAP, it’s application to asset management (specifically fund of funds and private credit), and the ability to apply GAAP concepts to sophisticated transactions and complex fund structures
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and is detail oriented. Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to multitask are critical
• Experience in coordinating the day-to-day operations with fund administrators, including communications for capital calls, distributions, redemptions, and financial reporting and monitoring of critical metrics
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, manage production calendars across multiple participants & interested parties
• A proactive, can-do attitude to ensure all reporting and deliverables are completed in line with agreed timelines

What you will do:

• First level review of the quarter end close, financial reporting, and capital account statements for your Funds
• Prepare distribution recommendations working closely with portfolio management, investment operations and the treasury function
• Work closely with various internal partners to ensure an efficent operating model is in place for the credit funds
• Assist Fund Controller with matters related to closings and terms of legal documents
• Compile financial information for purposes of regulatory filings (i.e., Form ADV/PF)
• And other responsibilities as required

Education Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree majoring in accounting/finance, CPA preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in public and/or private accounting focused on the asset management industry, preferably with fund of funds or private credit fund experience.

Base Salary Range

$105,000.00 - $115,000.00

This USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus, total compensation may include eligibility for long-term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement, health, insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography. Please note the posted ranges do not apply outside the U.S. and should not be converted to other currencies as a proxy for compensation in other countries.
