Job summary

Eli Lilly and Company is seeking an Associate Director in the External Partnering team to expand early-stage outreach within the biotechnology ecosystem. The role focuses on identifying high-potential companies, building trusted relationships with founders and scientific leaders, and shaping engagements that move bold science toward value milestones and medicines for patients.

The ideal candidate combines strong drug discovery and development knowledge with business acumen and a proven ecosystem

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS, PhD, PharmD) in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, or related field.
• 7+ years in client services, consultative business development, biotech partnering, or related roles.
• 3+ years with early-stage biotech companies, founders, venture-backed orgs, incubators or accelerators.

Responsibilities

• Expand Catalyze360 collaborations with early-stage biotech companies.
• Develop outreach strategies to raise awareness of ExploR&D and TuneLab capabilities.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified early-company prospects.
• Lead early conversations to understand scientific objectives and development constraints.
• Shape customized engagements connecting company needs with ExploR&D expertise and digital solutions.
• Collaborate with Lilly Ventures, Gateway Labs, TuneLab and SMEs to coordinate support.
• Monitor biotech trends and funding dynamics to inform strategy.
• Represent Catalyze360 at conferences and founder forums to generate leads.
