Job summary

Lilly ExploR&D is seeking an Associate Director for ExploR&D Consultation Agreements to lead negotiations and execution of contracts between Lilly ExploR&D and external biotech partners across preclinical and development phases.

You will manage complex negotiations, translate scientific scope into commercial terms, and coordinate with legal, finance, and R&D teams to maintain a robust deal pipeline and drive efficiencies. Remote with travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; 7+ years in business development, contracting, or R&D consulting within biotech, pharma, or life sciences.
• Strong negotiation, contract drafting, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience negotiating and drafting complex biotech/pharma contracts with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-volume, end-to-end negotiations and serve as the primary biotech interface.
• Translate scientific scope into commercial contract terms for partnerships.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, and R&D teams; negotiate amendments and drive process efficiencies.
