Tasks

As a Senior Associate, you'll manage a meaningful caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution, working closely with Tresa and the rest of our team. We're looking for someone who is genuinely comfortable in the courtroom, not just at the negotiating table; litigation is a regular part of this role, and you should be confident representing clients in contested hearings and trial when a case calls for it.

  • Manage a full caseload of family law matters, including divorce, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, and property and asset division
  • Represent clients confidently in litigation, including contested hearings, trial, and other court appearances, as well as in mediation and settlement negotiation
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, parenting plans, settlement agreements, and other legal documents with a high standard of accuracy
  • Advise clients on high-asset divorce matters, complex property division, and QDROs
  • Build trusted, clear-eyed relationships with clients, guiding them through difficult decisions with both compassion and candor
  • Mentor and support junior associates and paralegals as the firm's team grows
  • Partner with firm leadership on case strategy, firm growth, and client experience
  • Maintain organized, accurate case files and timely communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
Requirements
  • Active member in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association
  • 5+ years of experience practicing family law, with substantial hands-on litigation experience
  • Genuine comfort and confidence in the courtroom; this role requires regular litigation, not occasional appearances
  • Experience with high-asset divorce, complex property division, or QDROs is a strong plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into plain language for clients
  • Ability to consistently meet a billable hours target of 120 hours per month (about 30 per week)
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with attention to detail and deadlines
  • A client-centered approach: patience and empathy paired with confident, strategic advocacy
  • Comfortable working in a small, collaborative, in-person firm environment in Snohomish County
Benefits

Salary range of $120,000–$160,000 per year, based on experience

Fully paid health insurance

Two weeks of paid time off, plus generous time off over holidays

CLE and bar dues reimbursement

Costco membership

A genuine opportunity for growth as the firm expands, alongside a team that values work-life balance and dedicated client service
