Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Investment Senior Associate to join the Alternative Investments team in New York. You will work with the Co-Chief Investment Officer to manage private equity funds, hedge funds, and other alternative assets through rigorous financial and qualitative analysis.

Ideal candidates have strong modeling skills, extensive experience in institutional investment management, and proficiency with industry tools like Bloomberg and FactSet.

Qualifications

• MBA or MS in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Mathematical Sciences, Engineering, Business, Data Analytics or related focus of study.
• 7+ years of institutional investment management experience in Alternative Investments.
• Experience investing across asset classes including hedge funds, private equity, and venture capital.
• Ability to conduct investment research with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Manage investment process tasks: origination, due diligence, investment recommendation, and assisting counsel in closing legal documentation.
• Monitor and analyze the existing portfolio: track funds, sub-strategies, portfolio performance and managers’ developments.
• Participate in meetings with prospective and existing investment managers; attend annual meetings.
• Assist in due diligence of co-investment opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of global capital markets to assess portfolio opportunities.
• Develop relationships with internal teams and external contacts to stay informed on investment opportunities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of asset classes, performance metrics, and regulatory factors impacting outlook.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
