Job summary

Bain Capital in Boston is seeking a Senior Associate to lead Private Equity data products on Snowflake, from platform foundations to critical data processes. You will be a technical expert on a small product team and work with the Director of Data Products.

The ideal candidate is an experienced technologist with Snowflake expertise, strong SQL and Python skills, and a proven ability to turn business requirements into scalable designs with ownership from concept to production.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional data platform, data engineering, or software engineering experience.
• Strong foundation in software design and architectural patterns.
• Ability to explain technical choices clearly to finance and operations stakeholders.
• Ownership mindset from concept to production and ongoing operation.

Responsibilities

• Own ingestion and data modeling for Private Equity source systems, including fund accounting, valuation, portfolio monitoring, and HR/time data.
• Deliver changes from specification to production quickly, using AI coding agents, and review outputs.
• Build data certification, owner sign-off, lineage, and data quality checks into the codebase with Data Governance.
• Own pipeline reliability, set up monitoring and alerting, and follow incidents through to lasting fixes.
• Configure Snowflake for the domain, including RBAC, cost management, data sharing, and multi-account setup.
• Manage infrastructure, permissions, and governance metadata as code using Terraform, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, and controlled promotions.
• Translate complex business processes into data models and system designs; shape the capability roadmap with the product manager.
• Set technical standards, review designs and code, and mentor contractor and offshore engineers.
