Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Sr Associate Accountant in Alpharetta, GA to join the accounting team and deliver reliable, timely financial data in a dynamic environment. You will assist with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and GAAP adherence.

You will collaborate with other departments, support quarterly reviews and year-end audits, and help ensure SOX compliance while improving processes and reporting variances to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• Knowledge of public accounting principles and practices.
• 3–5 years accounting experience in staff/senior roles.
• Ability to document and communicate financial information clearly.
• Strong critical thinking to identify solutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with large ERP systems (Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP).

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end closing and timely journal entries.
• Prepare and enter journal entries including corrections, allocations, and accruals.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations with in-depth analysis.
• Present monthly financial results and variances to management.
• Assist in quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Coordinate with other departments and external parties on accounting information.
• Adhere to SOX requirements and internal controls.
• Document processes and suggest improvements as needed.
