Job summary

Global Payments is hiring a Technical Accounting Manager to lead complex accounting analyses and ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting. You will partner with finance, tax, and operations to support audits, internal controls, and the monthly close, while staying current on new standards.

You will own research and documentation of conclusions, support business combinations, and participate in global financial reporting processes, contributing to cross-border initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with technical accounting and financial reporting.
• CPA preferred.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical accounting research (revenue recognition, business combinations, lease accounting, stock compensation, software, etc.) and document conclusions.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reporting in line with GAAP.
• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare required documentation for audits.
• Develop and implement internal controls to ensure SOX 404 compliance.
• Stay up-to-date with new accounting standards and assess impact on financial statements.
• Consult with business management on accounting matters.
• Support monthly and quarterly close processes.
• Participate in valuations for business combinations and related accounting.
• Contribute to special projects addressing financial accounting and reporting.
