Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking an experienced Second Line of Defense (2LOD) Controls Tester within Enterprise Risk Management in the United States. The role focuses on independent review and challenge of ERM, ELCs, cyber, technology, and non-technology controls, providing assurance to risk committees.

You will assess risk programs, document findings, and partner with Business and Application Owners to strengthen controls and governance, while maintaining regulatory compliance and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in Internal Audit, IT Audit, Risk Management, ERM, or related disciplines.
• Familiarity with Entity Level Controls (ELCs), RCSAs, issue management and risk reporting.

Responsibilities

• Test, validate, and assert control testing methods to business owners.
• Perform 2LOD validation including planning, workpapers, findings, and reporting to risk committees.
• Assess ERM programs, governance, risk reporting, and risk appetite across the lifecycle.
