Job summary

Western Alliance Bank seeks an Enterprise Risk Management Team Lead to support the program across risk and control self-assessment, issue management, and policy framework. You will drive controls testing, develop reporting, and contribute to governance and risk reporting across the enterprise.

You will mentor the Second Line of Defense, enhance risk practices, and promote a culture of risk awareness among associates while aligning with regulatory expectations and internal standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience in controls testing.
• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Intermediate knowledge of general banking operations and regulatory obligations.
• Experience across one or more lines of defense (banking ops, IT, risk, audit).
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks (COSO, Basel) and tools.
• MS Office proficiency; preferred CIA/CISA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of a testing engagement including test of design and operating effectiveness of documented controls, issue determination, workpaper completion, and reporting.
• Review testing workpapers to ensure they support testing conclusions and comply with internal methodology.
• Prepare reports that clearly summarize the testing engagement, issues, and recommendations.
• Support leadership in enhancement of Second Line of Defense Enterprise and Operational Risk Programs, including Controls Testing and Issue Management.
• Champion a strong risk culture for the company by elevating the risk knowledge base of associates.
