Job summary

BankUnited is seeking an experienced risk professional to serve as a Second Line of Defense (2LoD) controls testing lead. The role focuses on developing and maintaining an independent testing program for IT and Cybersecurity controls, with oversight across risk management, compliance, and internal audit.

You will translate assessment results into actionable risk insights for management and regulators, and support audits and examinations as part of an integrated risk framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Risk Management, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, maintains, and enhances the Controls Testing Program.
• Establishes methodologies, standards, procedures, and support documentation for independent assessments.
• Executes assessments to evaluate IT and Cybersecurity controls.
• Evaluates controls against policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Provides credible challenge to control owners regarding effectiveness and remediation.
