Job summary

Alexander Chapman is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Alternative Investments team in Chicago. The role focuses on evaluating, selecting and monitoring private market managers, supporting advisor and client interactions.

The position covers manager diligence, investment analysis and client-facing responsibilities across Private Equity, Private Credit, Real Assets and broader Alternative Investments. The candidate will work closely with senior investment leadership.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of relevant experience in private markets or alternative investments.
• Background in Private Markets, Alternative Investments, Manager Research, Fund Investments or investment due diligence.
• Experience in OCIO, Investment Consulting, Private Wealth or similar platforms is highly relevant.

Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence on private market funds and external managers.
• Meet directly with fund managers and GPs to assess strategy, track record and investment approach.
• Support manager selection and investment recommendations.
• Review fund materials, performance, portfolio construction and investment risks.
• Prepare investment analysis and materials for internal decision‑making.
• Monitor existing manager relationships and approved investments.
• Support advisor teams with alternative investment research and guidance.
• Help communicate private market opportunities clearly to advisors and clients.

• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Comfortable interacting directly with fund managers, advisors and clients
• No specific educational background required
