Job summary

The Make Golf Your Career organization is seeking a 1st Assistant Golf Professional to assist the Head Golf Professional with golf shop and outside services, enhancing guest experiences and events. This role supports clinics, tournaments, outings, leagues and programs to strengthen service and the club's market position.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor degree (PGA Member preferred), have 3+ years in golf, and excel in retail, marketing, sales, and customer relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree preferred.
• PGA Member preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in golf industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Strong customer service, sales and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing company operating policies for golf shop and outside services.
• Handle cash flow in golf shop and balance with receipts.
• Monitor staff performance to meet customer service and productivity goals.
• Maintain clean and stocked merchandise displays.
• Prepare operating budgets and assist with forecasts and variances.
• Assist with physical inventory at month end.
• Track golf rounds, analyze customer preferences and service quality.
• Interact with pass-holders, members and guests professionally.
• Schedule tee times and handle inquiries and complaints.
• Plan and conduct lessons and golf clinics.
• Organize tournaments, outings and events.
• Be knowledgeable of shop merchandise and provide recommendations.
• Maintain ancillary services such as handicapping and driving range facilities.
