Job summary

Morris Group, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Controller to manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting in our Windsor, CT headquarters. This onsite role requires a seasoned accounting professional with strong analytical skills.

You will lead month-end close, prepare financial analyses, and support audits while driving process improvements within the Shared Service team. A CPA or Master’s degree is preferred and 10+ years of accounting experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or Masters preferred.
• 10+ years of accounting experience; distribution experience a plus; 2+ years at senior level preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with internal and external partners at various levels; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting under US GAAP.
• Prepare month-end close and detailed financial analysis; assist in budget preparation and intercompany eliminations.
• Oversee Sales Tax Returns and assist with Sales Tax Audits; manage AP and GL departments; ensure audit trails and reconciliations.
