Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting in a multi-entity environment. You will work with executive finance leadership to maintain strong internal controls and drive process improvements.

You will oversee month-end close, assist audits, and mentor the accounting team while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements; experience with month-end close and audits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; ensure timely results.
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analyses for management review.
• Oversee compensation and incentive-related accounting across multiple units.
• Partner with external auditors and support annual audits.
• Evaluate and enhance accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Lead or support accounting system upgrades and automation initiatives.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
