Job summary

CSI Group, a leading financial services firm in New Jersey, seeks an experienced Assistant Controller to support the Head of Finance. In-office role focused on month-end close, general ledger integrity, and driving A/P/A/R improvements.

You will work with senior leadership, including the CEOs, and may build a small accounting team over time. The role emphasizes audit readiness and internal controls with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with month-end close ownership.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or a comparable system.
• Proven ability to document, improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Experience managing A/P and A/R functions.
• Strong organizational skills to manage competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the full month-end and year-end close process.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Maintain the general ledger in QuickBooks Online with high accuracy.
• Drive audit-ready financial reporting within the first year.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports for senior leadership.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure proper coding and approvals.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff and develop processes for A/P and A/R improvements.
• Collaborate with Head of Finance and CEOs; communicate financial updates.
