Job summary

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment (KSE) seeks an Assistant Controller to manage day-to-day accounting for the Colorado Rapids and Colorado Mammoth, oversee monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, and the development of accounting policies and controls.

You will lead budgeting and forecasting, coordinate MLS and NLL reporting, prepare consolidated financial statements, and supervise accounting staff, partnering with senior leaders to inform strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• 5 years of progressive accounting and finance experience with month-end close and budgeting.
• Prior supervisory or team-lead experience required.
• CPA, MBA or active CPA progress is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for Colorado Rapids and Mammoth, including month-end close and policy maintenance.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting with senior management.
• Oversee MLS and NLL league reporting and related submissions.
• Coordinate audits and act as primary finance contact.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and consolidated reporting.
• Support tax data gathering and external preparers.
• Collaborate with Shared Services on payroll, AP, and intercompany activity.
• Supervise accounting staff and strengthen internal controls.
• Identify process improvements and lead ad hoc analyses.
