Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group seeks an Assistant Controller to support the Controller in overseeing accounting operations across development, property management, corporate, and affiliated entities. This role provides hands-on leadership in financial operations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial information and driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Experience with property management or real estate accounting.
• Proficiency with MRI and Yardi accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in oversight of accounting operations across development, property management, corporate, and related entities.
• Review and analyze financial information for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies and standards.
• Support the preparation, review, and delivery of financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and analyses.
• Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
• Review and approve accounting transactions, reconciliations, adjustments, and reporting deliverables.
• Assist in maintaining financial reporting processes and internal controls.
• Provide financial oversight for development projects and managed properties.
• Coordinate with operations to address financial matters and enhance reporting effectiveness.
