Job summary

Kerry Brothers Truck Repair is seeking an Assistant Controller to own the month-end close, multi-entity consolidation, and consolidated financial reporting across a growing family of operating companies in Metro Detroit. The role requires handling complex entries, intercompany eliminations, and ERP governance while guiding staff and expanding the controllership function.

The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, solid GAAP knowledge, and ERP system

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
5–10 years of progressive accounting experience with multi-entity reporting and close ownership.
GAAP knowledge and experience with intercompany accounting a plus.

Responsibilities

Own the month-, quarter-, and year-end close across all entities and consolidate the close.
Prepare and review journal entries for multiple legal entities with GAAP compliance.
Manage multi-entity consolidation, intercompany eliminations, and intercompany billing.
Design cost and overhead allocation methods across entities and locations.
Own balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances and aged items.
Lead integration accounting for newly acquired businesses and onboarding.
Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports with variance commentary.
Strengthen internal controls, policies, and close documentation.
Act as primary contact for external audit and tax coordination.
