Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Seattle is seeking an Assistant Controller to join the Accounting and Shared Services team. You will lead close processes, GAAP reporting, and internal controls while developing staff and driving automation initiatives across multi-entity operations.

The role emphasizes collaboration, process improvement, and strong accounting leadership within a flexible, growth‑oriented culture. This is a full‑time onsite position in downtown Seattle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in leadership roles such as Assistant Controller or Accounting Director.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with multi-entity or multi-location environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and annual close processes and ensure timely reporting.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and GAAP-compliant statements.
• Analyze variances and communicate findings to leadership.
• Maintain general ledger integrity, assets, leases, accruals, and intercompany accounting.
• Guide budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting with cross-functional partners.
• Mentor accounting staff and promote process improvements.
