Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our Accounting and Shared Services team in Seattle. The role partners with the Controller and VP of Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient accounting operations.

You will lead close processes, support audits and technical accounting matters, develop staff, and drive process improvements and automation initiatives across multiple entities and locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Typically 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience as Assistant Controller or similar leadership role.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with Excel, ERP systems, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and annual close processes ensuring timely GAAP reporting.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements for accuracy.
• Manage internal controls, audits, and compliance activities.
• Mentor accounting staff and drive process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting and forecasting.
