M.S. Walker, a long-standing wine and spirits importer and distributor, seeks an Assistant Controller to join its Finance and Accounting team in a fast-paced environment. The role supports monthly close, financial reporting, audits, and internal controls, driving accuracy and compliance across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated accounting professional with technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a track record of delivering results in a dynamic business.

Qualificações

• Active CPA license required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Manage month-end/year-end close processes and timeliness.
• Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules.
• Strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate annual financial statement audit and tax filings.
• Research accounting issues and advise management on standards.
• Partner with leaders to support compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Mentor and develop accounting staff; serve as backup for critical functions.
