Job summary

Attivo Partners is seeking an Assistant Controller to own all client accounting functions, produce statements, and manage month-end close across multiple startups. The role includes developing financial models, setting policies, and mentoring Attivo staff.

The position offers remote-friendly work from cities with Attivo presence, occasional travel 2–3 weeks per year, and collaboration with CFOs and venture-backed clients. A strong growth mindset and accounting leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 1 year at the Assistant Controller level and above.
• Experience guiding, mentoring, and leading high performing accounting teams.
• Experience working in a fast-paced technology and/or professional services environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage all general accounting functions including month-end close, eliminations & consolidations, journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly consolidated client financials including fluctuation analysis and budget vs actual comparisons.
• Set client accounting & tax policies.
• Define ASC 606 revenue recognition policies.
• Direct activities related to cash collection, vendor payments, cash forecasting.
• Build financial models to help clients manage cash and operational decisions.
• Create and manage KPI dashboards.
• Oversee client tax-related matters and lead annual audits; mentor accounting teams.
