Job summary

Conestoga seeks an experienced Assistant Controller in Liberal, Kansas, to lead the close process and supervise accounting staff. This hands-on role partners with the Controller and CFO to drive improvements in internal controls and reporting across the organization.

You will play a key part in ERP implementation, data validation, and developing efficient accounting processes for the future, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.

Qualifications

• Experience leading monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting policies.
• Involvement in ERP system implementation and data validation.
• Ability to partner with Operations, IT, and other departments to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Review financial information for accuracy, ensuring timely, reliable reporting.
• Serve as Accounting resource during ERP implementation and testing.
• Improve accounting processes and internal controls with Controller/CFO.
• Assist with audits, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning.
• Support management reporting and special projects as needed.
• Coach and supervise accounting staff and prioritize work.
