Xcel Energy is seeking a Senior Asset Analyst to lead strategic and economic analyses for optimizing electric and gas assets. You will develop long-term strategies aligned with regulatory goals and identify opportunities to grow revenue while reducing costs.

The role requires strong financial modeling, advanced business acumen, and effective communication across teams. Hybrid work is available, with onsite presence to support collaboration and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, math, economics, or accounting, or engineering; advanced finance degree preferred.
• 8 years of financial modeling experience in a utility or similar industry.
• Strong business/financial acumen with ability to explain complex concepts clearly in writing and presentations.
• Detail-oriented, self-starter able to work independently and in teams.
• Ability to manage workload to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create, execute, and lead strategic and economic analyses that generate recommendations on investment, operational and market strategy, and strategic growth for regional portfolios.
• Develop strategy and asset analyses that support Xcel Energy's long-term planning and regulatory/public policy goals.
• Provide analyses to identify opportunities to increase revenue, deliver cost reductions, or mitigate risks for assets.
• Develop asset life-cycle analyses and new/emerging technology analytics.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams to integrate innovation into the regional portfolio of assets.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to Operations, Regulatory, and executive leadership on financial and operational characteristics of assets and strategies.
• Interface with multiple departments to quantify risk and identify value-adding strategies for the electric and gas portfolio.
• Provide project management support for strategic initiatives, including financial and operational impacts.
• Develop discovery responses and/or testimony in regulatory proceedings.
• Support cost modeling tools with accurate asset data for company-wide analyses.
• Drive improvement in production cost modeling and asset market offers.
• Mentor and guide Sr. Asset Analysts.
