Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Senior Asset Analyst to lead strategic and economic analyses for optimizing electric and gas assets. You will model and present opportunities to create value for customers and shareholders, working across Operations, Regulatory, and Finance to drive portfolio improvements.

Hybrid role with responsibilities spanning asset life-cycle analyses, revenue opportunities, and cost-reduction strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, mathematics, economics, or accounting, or Engineering or technical degree acceptable with advanced degree in finance or related field.
8 years of financial modeling experience in a utility or similar industry.
Strong business/financial acumen with ability to communicate complex concepts clearly in writing and presentations.
Detail-oriented, self-starter with ability to work independently and in groups.
Must effectively manage workload to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Create, execute, and lead strategic and economic analyses that generate recommendations on investment, operational and market strategy, and strategic growth for the regional portfolios.
Develop strategy and asset analysis that supports long-term planning and is aligned with regulatory and policy goals.
Provide analyses to identify opportunities to increase revenue streams or reduce costs and mitigate risks for assets.
Develop asset life-cycle analyses and new technology analytics.
Work in cross-functional teams to integrate innovation into the regional asset portfolio.
Interface with Operations, Finance, Regulatory, and others to quantify risk and identify value-adding strategies.
