Xcel Energy, a leading utility, is seeking a Senior Asset Analyst to lead strategic analyses and asset optimization for its electric and gas portfolios. You will model financial and operational opportunities and present insights to customers and shareholders.

The role partners with Operations, Regulatory, and executive leadership, mentors junior analysts, and supports capital planning in a hybrid, onsite-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, mathematics, economics, or accounting, or Engineering or technical degree acceptable with advanced degree in finance or related field.
• 8 years of financial modeling experience in a utility or similar industry.
• Strong business/financial acumen with ability to communicate complex concepts clearly in writing and in presentations.
• Detail-oriented, self-starter able to work independently or in teams.
• Must effectively manage workload to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Create, execute, and lead strategic and economic analyses that generate recommendations on investment, operational and market strategy for regional portfolios.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to Operations, Regulatory, and executive leadership on financial and operational characteristics of assets and strategies.
• Provide project management support for strategic initiatives related to asset portfolio and regulatory proceedings.
• Support cost modeling tools by providing accurate asset data for modeling and decision analysis.
• Mentor and guide Sr. Asset Analyst(s) and act as a resource across organizations.
