Job summary

Soltage in Jersey City, NJ is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to own a portfolio of solar and storage assets from construction through operations. You will oversee revenue, expenses, and performance, applying financial analysis and market insight to maximize profitability.

This role requires collaboration with internal teams and external partners, managing COD, incentives, and compliance, while mentoring junior managers and presenting results to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–7 years in asset management or corporate/project finance within renewables.
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Understanding of power, capacity, and environmental commodity markets.
• Experience with project financing structures (tax equity, inverted leases, non-recourse debt).
• Ability to independently manage a multi-asset portfolio (40+ MW).
• Strong commercial judgment and negotiation skills.
• Familiarity with rebate/incentive/compliance programs.
• Experience in renewable energy, particularly solar/storage.

Responsibilities

• Own the full asset management lifecycle for a 40–50 MW portfolio from construction to steady-state operations.
• Lead onboarding of assets during construction with cross-functional teams for COD readiness.
• Own COD process, securing grants/incentives and ensuring proper offtake agreements.
• Ensure revenue and expenses stay aligned with approved budgets.
• Act as first line of defense on profitability using Excel/financial analysis.
• Track market developments in power, capacity and environmental commodities.
• Lead variance analysis and drive corrective actions to protect profitability.
• Manage rebates and subscription programs across the portfolio.
• Ensure day-to-day compliance with contractual, regulatory, and reporting obligations.
• Monitor O&M performance against budget and cost assumptions.
• Negotiate and manage contracts affecting asset performance with a strategic view.
• Present portfolio performance to leadership with key drivers, risks and opportunities.
• Lead process improvements to strengthen portfolio tracking.
• Mentor Junior Asset Managers.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
