Job summary

Soltage seeks an experienced Asset Manager to own a dedicated book of solar and storage assets through construction to commercial operation. You will ensure revenue and expenses stay aligned with budgets, secure grants and incentives, and manage compliance across the portfolio.

Based in Jersey City, this hybrid, full-time role requires strong Excel/financial analysis and a ownership mindset to optimize portfolio performance and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering or related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in asset management, portfolio management, corporate or project finance within renewable energy, power, or infrastructure.
• Strong Excel and financial analysis skills and ability to diagnose drivers behind revenue, expenses, profitability.

Responsibilities

• Own the full asset management lifecycle for a portfolio of ~40-50 MW solar and storage assets from construction through commercial operation.
• Lead onboarding of newly financed assets, coordinating with Accounting, Project Management, Engineering, and Operations.
• Manage Commercial Operation Date (COD) process, apply for grants/incentives, ensure off-take agreements are in place, oversee compliance.
• Own financial and operational performance, ensuring revenue/expenses align with budgets and outcomes.
• Perform variance analysis against budgets, diagnose root causes, implement corrective actions.
• Track rebates, incentives, and subscription programs across the portfolio.
• Ensure day-to-day compliance for assets in partnership with Legal.
• Monitor O&M performance against cost/assumptions, flag variances.
• Manage commercial terms of contracts affecting asset performance with ownership of recommendations.
• Present performance, risks and opportunities to leadership with data-driven insights.
• Lead process improvements to enhance portfolio tracking and performance.
