Position Title: Senior Asset Development Manager
Location: Los Angeles Unified School District (Candidates must be able and willing to commute to Los Angeles, CA)
Due Date: 05/28/25
Duties:
- Establish the structures, formulae, and assumptions necessary to plan for multibillion school construction projects.
- Manage and oversee planning and master planning architects and in-house staff. Collaborate with Board staff to translate policy into actionable instructions.
- Coordinate with the Office of Environmental, Health and Safety (OEHS) for CEQA and other environmental clearances.
- Protect the long-term asset values and uses of district real estate and other assets.
- Formulate strategies to increase the flexible use of district assets.
- Allocate resources and energy toward high-priority, high-risk, high-benefit projects for the Facilities Services Division.
Minimum Requirements:
Required Experience
- Twenty (20) years of full-time paid professional experience in planning and development of public agencies, educational, or institutional facilities.
- At least five years' experience overseeing complex survey activities of educational properties concerning physical attributes and potential future uses.
- At least five years overseeing development of recommendations for fund allocation to enable future projects.
- At least five years overseeing recommendations for project prioritization and phasing aligned with educational master plans and programming.
Preferred Experience
- Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Experience with LEED and/or CHPS projects.
- Experience with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) processes.
- Experience with construction management.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management from a recognized institution.
- Additional coursework in business administration, public relations, accounting, school finance, personnel management, educational facilities planning, or communication is preferred.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Architect registration with the California State Architectural Board or Professional Engineer license from the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
- Construction Manager (CCM) credential from the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI).
- LEED Professional Accreditation.
The offered salary range is $185,000 - $197,000, based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
