Duties:
- Establish structures, formulae, and assumptions for planning multibillion-dollar school construction projects.
- Manage planning and master planning architects and in-house staff; work with Board staff to translate policy into actionable instructions.
- Coordinate with the Office of Environmental, Health and Safety (OEHS) for environmental clearances such as CEQA.
- Protect long-term asset values and uses of district real estate and other assets.
- Formulate strategies to increase flexible use of district assets.
- Allocate resources and energy toward high-priority, high-risk, high-benefit projects for the Facilities Services Division.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
- 20 years of full-time paid professional experience in planning and development of public agencies, educational, or institutional facilities.
- At least 5 years overseeing complex survey activities of educational properties.
- At least 5 years developing recommendations for fund allocation for future projects.
- At least 5 years overseeing project prioritization and phasing aligned with educational master plans.
Preferred Experience:
- Utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Experience with LEED and/or CHPS projects.
- Experience with DSA construction/design processes.
- Construction management experience.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management from a recognized university.
- Additional coursework in business, public relations, finance, personnel management, or educational facilities planning is preferred.
Licenses and Certificates:
- Valid Architect registration in California or Professional Engineer license.
- Construction Manager (CCM) credential and LEED Professional Accreditation are preferred.
The salary range is $185,000 - $197,000, based on various factors including education and experience.
