DEFINITION
To perform a variety of administrative duties for the Academic and Career Readiness program, conduct department testing, and assist students in all Academic and Career Readiness programs.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
- Receives direct supervision from the Director of Adult High School & Career Pathways; receives general supervision from the Director of Academic & Career Readiness.
- Exercises no supervision.
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANTFUNCTION STATEMENTS
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Essential Functions:
- Provide complex administrative and operational support to the Adult High School (AHS) and High School Equivalency (HSE) programs.
- Assist AHS and HSE program directors with student orientations and intake processes, including testing students.
- Coordinate with partner high schools to receive transcripts and withdrawal forms prior to orientation.
- Conduct AHS student class placement advising.
- Register AHS students for current and upcoming sessions, including scheduling in Advansys and Edmentum.
- Process transcripts for AHS and transfer credits to CFCCtranscript.
- Enter AHS credits and updatetranscripts.
- Process AHS graduate records to New Hanover and Pender Countyschools.
- Assist with data entry processes and maintenance of AHS student tracking spreadsheet.
- Monitor, check and approve online AHS attendance.
- Coordinate and proctor AHS student post-testing in the testing lab.
- Assist students and visitors to the department with information about all of ourprograms.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
- All Academic and Career Readiness policies and procedures including NRS reporting requirements.
- Standardized testing procedures.
- State and area agencies associated with Academic and Career Readiness programs.
- Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office and GoogleSuite.
Ability to:
- Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in coursework.
- Respond to routine inquiries and requests for information.
- Maintain a relationship with a variety of students,instructors,and co-workers conducive to optimal working conditions.
- Coordinate work assignments with others.
- Respond to a work schedule that includes working some nights each month.
- Work independently in the absence of direct supervision.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully,both orally and in writing
Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
- Making observations
- Reading and writing

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:
Minimum Education/Training:
An Associate's degree isrequired
Preferred Education/Training:
A Bachelor's degree with course work in education is preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Prior experience in education.
- Experience with online learning.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in Academic and Career Readiness (Basic Skills) is desirable.
- Prior experience with student data management systems is desirable.
Additional Requirements
- Position requires a schedule that includes evening hours.
- Position involves travel.
