Job summary

Oshkosh AeroTech, An Oshkosh Company, is seeking an experienced Assembler to join our manufacturing team in Orlando. The role involves assembling mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components to meet product specifications using hand and powered tools.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 5+ years of experience in medium/heavy mechanical assembly. Attention to detail, safety and the ability to interpret blueprints are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years’ experience with medium/heavy mechanical assembly.
• Demonstrated understanding of blueprints and technical documentation.
• Ability to operate mechanical and electrical tooling.
• Attention to detail, quality and safety.
• Ability to judge sequence of setups, operations and processes.

Responsibilities

• Use and interpret blueprints, product specifications and technical specifications.
• Understand and demonstrate performance of multiple work center requirements and manufacturing disciplines.
• Trouble shoot and problem solve assembly challenges and work with support departments to create corrective action.
• Active participation in team daily management and problem solving.
• Work as part of a team to achieve daily production goals in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Use various types of hand tools in the assembly.
• Use and interpret mechanical drawings and bills of material.
• Use and interpret Standard Work, SOPs or Work Instructions to conform to process specifications.
• Make mechanical connections using nuts, bolts, washers, and screws.
• Use fitting equipment such as drills, files, and grinders.
• Make electrical connections using prefabricated harnesses.
• Use cutters, wire strippers and crimping tools.
• Self-audit/inspect assembled work using drawings and checklists.
• Inform Value Stream leadership of Safety or Quality non-conformances or opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
