Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC in Charleston seeks a senior production manager to lead manual and automated production systems, own their area, ensure volume and cost goals, and uphold safety and quality standards.

You will drive new production technologies, collaborate across departments, and guide lean initiatives to improve plant utilization while meeting deadlines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; 5–8 years of relevant experience in planning, development, and implementation of production processes and technologies.
• Internal candidates require PV-44.
• Extensive knowledge in Assembly shop systems.
• Excellent knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and its application.
• Strong interpersonal skills in intercultural, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Defines budgets and scheduling; tracks budget achievement and costs.
• Contributes to the development of implementation strategies.
• Oversees the development and implementation of new production technologies and ensures continued process improvements.
• Manages personnel, machinery, and materials to guarantee on-time delivery and budget.
• Works closely with other departments on production processes.
• Leads area meetings and participates in Assembly meetings.
• Ensures safety, quality, quantity, and deadlines; implements lean concepts.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and work agreements.
• Leads and guides team performance and development.
