Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC MBV Charleston is seeking a production-focused technician to own an assigned area, optimize equipment performance, and drive quality across shifts. You will monitor operations, troubleshoot simple faults, and participate in continuous improvement projects.

The role emphasizes 5S/TPM practices, basic PLC/robotics knowledge, and collaboration with team leads to maintain safety and efficiency. 3-shift availability and local travel for training may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of automotive manufacturing experience.
• Prior experience in automated systems or automotive body is preferred. Certification or Associates Degree can substitute.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment to meet daily quality/volume targets.
• Understand cell sequence; recover from faults and maintain setup/sequence.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and part replacement with standard tools.
• Conduct routine quality checks and ensure poka-yoke systems.
• Document shift handovers, downtime events, and quality issues clearly.
