Job summary

Hyliion is seeking a Senior Manager of Assembly Operations to lead Core, Module, and Harness Assembly at the Cedar Park, Texas facility. This role oversees SQDCP performance, safety, quality, and lean transformation as KARNO production moves to repeatable production.

You will develop supervisors into front-line leaders while driving continuous improvement on the shop floor. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality, manage staffing and training, and ensure adherence to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years manufacturing operations experience with 5+ years leading supervisors or front-line leaders in an assembly environment.
• Demonstrated track record of scaling an assembly operation (ramping a new product, standing up a new line).
• Hands-on lean/TPS practitioner with measurable improvement results.
• Experience in complex, labor-intensive, low-to-mid volume assembly with skilled technicians.
• Experience with capital equipment assembly and high-precision requirements preferred.
• Aerospace/defense quality system exposure (AS9100, PPAP, FMEA) preferred.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own SQDCP performance across Core, Module, and Harness Assembly with metrics and daily accountability.
• Build a safety-first culture around high-voltage systems and heavy lifting; lead incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Quality to improve first-pass yield and drive 8D and A3 problem solving.
• Translate production schedules into staffing, shifts, and capacity plans; ensure schedule adherence.
• Control labor efficiency, scrap, rework, and consumables; support operating budget.
• Own assembly processes transitioning from development to production; close gaps in work instructions and tooling.
• Establish takt, line balance, and flow as volumes ramp; use capacity modeling to anticipate constraints.
• Lead production readiness for new builds and process transfers; optimize layout and training.
• Implement standard work and continuous improvement from the gemba; drive kaizen.
