Job summary

Omilia is seeking an ASR Engineer to own end-to-end tuning, training, testing, deployment, and live performance of its ASR technology for enterprise IVR and voice-channel deployments. This role leads ASR delivery end-to-end, coordinating with Product, Support, and Project Management to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on ASR/speech engineering experience, with production live IVR or voice-channel deployments.
• Strong English communication and stakeholder engagement for enterprise customers.
• Proven ability to design, train, and tune acoustic/language models and grammars.
• Proficiency with Kaldi or equivalent ASR platforms and decoding tuning.
• Solid programming in Python (also Bash/Java/C++ acceptable) and Linux comfort.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end ASR tuning, model and grammar delivery for live deployments.
• Investigate and resolve production ASR issues to ensure rapid recovery.
• Manage technical relationships with enterprise accounts as primary ASR delivery contact.
• Drive WER/SER improvements through neural and traditional modeling.
• Build automation pipelines to speed up release cycles and reduce manual work.
• Monitor performance across global production regions and flag degradation.
• Deploy and validate ASR updates across production infrastructure.
• Document tuning decisions, model versions, and configuration changes.
