Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Plant Operator to safely and efficiently produce Hot Mix and Warm Mix Asphalt. You will control automated plant systems, maintain equipment, and ensure strict QC and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include loading, blending according to designs, and minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance while upholding our Guardian Angel safety culture and strong production uptime.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma, GED or relevant experience.
• 10+ years of experience in Asphalt Plant Operations or a Heavy Industrial Manufacturing environment.
• OSHA/EPA knowledge and technical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated plant control systems to monitor and adjust material flow, temperatures, and mixing times.
• Ensure precise blending of aggregates and asphalt cement per QC specs.
• Oversee loading of asphalt into haul trucks with correct weights and safe traffic flow.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with Loader Operator to keep plant fed.
• Perform advanced maintenance on conveyors, baghouses, drum dryers, and related equipment.
• Use arc welders and cutting torches for repairs and modifications.
• Identify and troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Maintain clean, safe facilities and document pre/post shift inspections.
