Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking an Asphalt Leadperson to oversee day-to-day asphalt plant production and supervise the plant crew. The role focuses on safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) while upholding operational excellence.

The candidate will need deep knowledge of asphalt plant components and strong leadership to guide operators and laborers in a high-pressure environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or relevant experience.
• Experience: 4+ years in asphalt plant operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory/leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of Plant Operators, Laborers, and Mobile Equipment Operators.
• Assist in planning daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet demand.
• Provide coaching, conduct performance evaluations, and enforce standards.
• Lead onboarding and training of new hires in plant operations and equipment.
• Monitor production cycle and adjust burners, feed rates, and mix designs to optimize output.
• Coordinate with QC to ensure DOT/local specs are met.
• Oversee receipt of raw materials and manage inventory to prevent downtime.
• Lead safety programs, conduct toolbox talks, and site inspections.
