Job summary

Knife River Corporation is seeking a reliable Asphalt Plant Service Technician to support the maintenance and operation of our asphalt plants. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring safe, efficient plant operations with minimal downtime.

The position requires at least 5 years of related experience, a valid driver's license, and preferred millwright and asphalt plant experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience.
• Mechanical, electrical and fabrication skills are required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Experience with asphalt plants is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of asphalt plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance like lubrication, belt adjustments, filter changes, and component replacements.
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement timely corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Maintain burners and fuel systems for optimal performance.
• Repair or replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, etc.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, drawings.
• Coordinate with plant operators and management on maintenance needs.
• Assist with plant upgrades, modifications, installation of new equipment.
• Perform general welding and fabrication as needed.
• Travel will be required.
• Willing to work varied hours up to 7 days a week.
