Job summary

Hubbard Construction Company in Winter Park, Florida is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare and review estimate packages for asphalt paving and roadway projects, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with department standards.

The ideal candidate has at least five years of estimating experience in asphalt paving and roadway construction, a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, proficiency with HCSS or equivalent software, and strong ability to read plans,

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator bidding asphalt paving and/or roadway construction projects.
• A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent experience, is required.
• Experience working for a General Contractor as an estimator bidding on DOT or other roadway projects between $1M and $25M required.

Responsibilities

• Read/review plans, proposals, specifications, RFPs, and any other pertinent project related documents to develop estimate/bid packages.
• Solicit estimates from subcontractors and vendors to prepare estimate packages.
• Prepare reports and analysis pertinent to estimating as requested by management.
• Review labor, equipment, and material costs for preparation of estimate/bid packages.
• Prepare accurate estimates from conceptual and schematic drawings.
• Produce detailed, final contract estimates for Asphalt Paving and Roadway/Site Development Projects.
• Assess project exposures/construction risks and reflect these in an estimate.
• Identify potential construction issues and value-engineering opportunities.
