Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Help standardize estimating procedures and cost tracking systems.
• Solicit and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain accurate cost databases and production rate benchmarks.
• Prepare bid summaries and proposals.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid openings as needed.
• Work with management to transition awarded projects from bid to build.
• Communicate with clients, engineers, and municipal representatives.
• Provide input on project schedules, budgets, and constructability.
• Maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for competitive pricing.
• Provide guidance and training to junior estimators and office staff.
• Help standardize estimating procedures, templates, and cost tracking systems.
• Participate in strategic pricing and market analysis to improve bid success rate.

Position Overview

North Coast Paving is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Senior Estimator to lead the company’s estimating efforts for asphalt paving and sitework projects across Northeast Ohio. This position plays a key role in securing profitable work, managing bid strategies, and ensuring estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with company goals.

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for public and private paving projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine scope and requirements.
• Perform detailed takeoffs for asphalt, aggregates, milling, and related items.
• Solicit and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain accurate cost databases and production rate benchmarks.
• Prepare bid summaries and proposals.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid openings as needed.

Project & Client Coordination

• Work with management team to transition awarded projects from bid to build.
