Job summary

Oregon State University’s Disability Access Services (DAS) seeks an hourly, as-needed Designated Interpreter to serve as the primary ASL/English interpreter for the Communication Access Manager. This role supports equitable communication access across meetings, trainings, conferences, recruitment activities, travel, and university business.

Under supervision, this position develops collaborative relationships with Deaf professionals and campus partners, coordinates coverage, travels as needed,

Qualifications

• Five years of professional ASL/English interpreting experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the related field.
• Current Oregon interpreter licensure with RID/BEI Advanced certification.
• Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Designated Interpreter - Serve as the primary ASL/English designated interpreter for the DAS Communication Access Manager.
• Coordination of interpreter coverage and team assignments based on communication access needs.
• University Planning and Program Support - Collaborate with Equal Opportunity & Access, Disability Access Services, Human Resources, and others to promote effective accessibility practices for ASL users at the university.
• Other Duties as Assigned
