Job summary

The Perenchio Foundation in Los Angeles seeks a seasoned Program Officer to join a small, collaborative team reporting to the Executive Director. You will advance grantmaking strategies, supervise the Grants Associate, and help develop new processes.

You will bring deep experience in nonprofit management, equity-focused grantmaking, and a strong ability to partner with grantees to meet timelines and impact. A commitment to arts in LA and collaboration across sectors is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in grantmaking, nonprofit management and/or management consulting experience preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience
• Strong work ethic, integrity, critical judgment, and authentic dedication to the Foundation’s mission
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and working with undercapitalized communities
• Knowledge of arts and nonprofit sector, capacity and financial health assessment
• Proven ability to build partnerships and sustain relationships at multiple levels
• Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to analyze and synthesize data to drive decisions

Responsibilities

• Oversees grantmaking review and analysis of open-call applications
• Conducts site visits to assess organizational needs and impact
• Analyzes financial documents to assess fiscal health and sustainability
• Develops written/oral assessments and funding recommendations
• Designs evaluation methods to monitor grantees’ progress
• Drives internal/external activities to achieve shared goals
• Facilitates peer-review for assessment and decision-making
• Convenes focus groups with grantees and field experts
• Represents the Foundation to external stakeholders
• Supervises the Grants Associate and other duties as assigned
