Job summary

Level Up Games, LLC in West Hollywood is seeking an experienced Art Director to lead a four-to-six month visual overhaul of Kyzen. The role is hands-on and senior, with a focus on unifying art direction, improving lighting, and enhancing world assets for performance.

You will work closely with engineers to define a cohesive look that resonates with the game's audience, deliver an art bible, and produce hero assets. On-site work required, with a start in Oct/Nov 2026.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional game art experience.
• 3+ years in an Art Director, Environment Artist, or Character Artist role.
• Proficiency with Unreal Engine 5 for performant asset design.
• Portfolio demonstrating cohesive stylized worlds.
• Ability to convey visual direction to engineers and translate goals into technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a full visual audit of Kyzen assets and identify opportunities.
• Establish a unified art direction via color script, lighting language, and silhouette rules.
• Document standards in an art bible for internal and outsourced teams.
• Produce reference and hero assets showing target look and feel.
• Improve lighting with a dedicated lighting artist to raise visual quality.
• Collaborate with designers to ensure a high-impact final product.
• Upgrade procedural asset placement rules across biomes with the engineer.
• Deliver handoff and standards documentation after the term ends.
