Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Senior Business Development Engineer for US Army engagements, reporting to the Director of Applications Engineering. You will translate Army needs into tactical radio solutions, demonstrate interoperability, and drive field-ready architectures with the BD team.

The role requires close collaboration with Engineering and Applications Engineering teams, with up to 50% travel and options for remote work depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related C5ISR field with 5+ years in systems engineering or defense tech.
• 5+ years engineering with Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based tactical routing, and tactical comms systems.
• Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months; US citizen; willingness to travel (50%).

Responsibilities

• Analyze US Army Capability Set requirements and map gaps to our tactical radio capabilities.
• Lead technical planning, network configuration, and live field trials with BD and Applications Engineering teams.
• Serve as technical anchor for RFI/RFP responses and write advanced tech capabilities into program requirements.
